Maintenance & comfort
Preparing your HVAC system for a humid summer
Review airflow, moisture concerns and maintenance before the cooling season.
Describe temperature and humidity separately
A room can reach its thermostat setting and still feel damp. Note which rooms feel uncomfortable, when it happens and whether the system runs briefly or for long periods. If you have indoor humidity readings, bring them to the service conversation. Those observations help frame an assessment; they are not a diagnosis.
Review airflow and drainage
Follow your equipment manual for filter care and keep room vents unobstructed. Cooling removes moisture at the indoor coil, and that water needs a working drain path. Tell Prince about indoor leakage or recurring drainage problems when you request a visit. Do not open equipment to investigate refrigerant or electrical components.
Arrange the right visit
Ask what seasonal maintenance includes for your system and whether a reported comfort problem needs separate diagnostic work. Share last summer’s concerns, recent repairs and your Cleveland-area location. A maintenance appointment helps address care needs but cannot guarantee a breakdown-free summer.
